This position isresponsible for directing or performing all activities related to maintaining asuccessful engineering and estimating tool (360) databaseenvironment andensuring the database meets user requirements. This position is responsible forsupporting Estimate360 usage and compliance in the business units according tothe CPP project process. PRIMARY DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES: As a member of theInnovation & Efficiency Engineering within the Buildings Americas ProcessExcellence & Quality group, responsibilities include: Work with Smartware to ensure timely and accurate data in order to audit, modify, and amend data in the 360 database using SQL commands, hand-editing, and bulk import to include Part Numbers, Descriptions, Pricing, Data Sheets, Search Filters, Schneider preferred, etc. Establish and document policies, procedures, and templates pertaining to the management, security, maintenance, and use of the database management system Provide quality customer service through interactions with suppliers, product managers, technical, operations and estimator personnel and to ensure product updates and accuracy, new products and obsolete parts are reflected in the S360 data Simply \/ expand product catalog to benefit SE profitability and user requirements, keeping iPortal, PREP, BAAN and S360 data synchronized Actively research alternate parts and list all the accessories available for parts Update missing product data on new and existing parts that include physical size, power consumption, ratings, certifications and technical Update the part categorization structure to make parts easy to find by the average user. Evaluate current product information and ensure consistent product data, information and documentation Contact suppliers to gain knowledge of the products, request information, sources and prices Anticipate new product additions, ensuring that all data, pricing and documentation is submitted to Smartware prior to product release Assist branch resources with adding and managing branch level part databases Update branch Studio360 databases monthly Coordinate with Product Management to determine the products provide most financial benefit to and update ratings and parameters in the database Communicate new product offers and database changes with written articles in newsletters and newsfeeds Provide quality and timely user support for Estimate360 and estimating processes Apply Estimate360 application to the SE estimating process for construction and retrofit BMS and security projects Develop and maintain metrics to measure business unit compliance and usage of the Estimate360 tool and estimating process Assist estimators in applying estimating strategies and processes to project with Estimate360 Recommend enhancements to Estimate360 application from feedback received from business units and test to ensure new feature and functionality performance Create necessary templates, part packages, reports templates and other administrative tasks for Studio360 and Estimate360 Assist in developing content and training material for Estimate360 and deliver Estimate360 and estimating process training in a live, virtual, quick help video or WebEx environment Minimal travel required Other duties may be assigned Qualifications 2-3 years hardware engineering experience and\/or 2-3 years estimating experience Good understanding of HVAC and security parts Good understanding of device and controller wiring, including AC\/DC circuits Basic electrical and mechanical knowledge needed to interpret product data, specifications, wiring diagrams, and applications Intermediate Excel knowledge with emphasis on pivot tables, sorting and filtering Intermediate Studio360 \/ Estimate360 understanding and skills Understand all aspects of how Studio360, Design360 and Estimate360 use the parts database Positive attitude, enthusiastic, self-motivated and customer-focused People-person and team player, enjoying the cross-functional interaction required for this position Strong written and oral communications skills Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic and possibly remote environment Ability to work with people with a wide range of technical backgrounds, including technicians, engineers, estimators, sales, project management, account managers, and sales personnel Ability to read electrical schematics Understand technical specifications of devices and parts Understand how to apply devices to different product controller lines Ability to create and maintain beneficial relationships with product managers, manufacturers and vendors We seek out and reward people for being straightforward, open, passionate, effective and challenging the status quo.
