Systems Engineering Project Manager (Experienced)

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to work closely with the technical staff, project leads and managers to execute project management activities.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
Team with technical leads, staff, and managers to make recommendations to influence key decision makers within the bound of project scope.
Identify and proactively work with project teams and Leadership in resolution of gaps and barriers to project success.
Analyze, prepare, validate, and maintain cost estimates, detailed baseline budgets, work package agreements, and cost variance reports.
Administer change control to schedule and budgets, ensuring appropriate changes are documented via change control processes.
Work with team of engineers and technicians to resolve complex hardware realization or resolve issues with existing hardware.
Provide leadership in working closely with the technical leads and engineering staff to analyze, scope, plan, schedule, and budget the appropriate work to achieve objectives.
Lead the development and management of a resource-loaded schedule that accurately reflects milestones, deliverables, resource needs, and project costs.
Lead in identifying emergent risks and prioritizing, quantifying, and implementing mitigation plans.
Provide detailed analysis and reporting of project status utilizing tools such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.
Travel as required for training or to support project efforts
Master's degree in a relevant STEM discipline plus 2 years demonstrated experience in technical Project Management or a Bachelor's degree in relevant STEM discipline and 6 years demonstrated experience in Project Management; or Master's degree in relevant STEM discipline and 2 years demonstrated experience in Project Management
Demonstrable experience with scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 or MS Project
Demonstrable experience developing cost estimates and cost reports utilizing appropriate software tools
Knowledge of Earned Value Management principles and methodology.
Demonstrated ability to understand complex engineering programs, bridge technical challenges, and deliver on project objectives
Ability to obtain PMP or equivalent certification within one year of hire
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoE Q clearance
Experience on complex, highly technical development projects
PMP or equivalent certification
Experience conducting risk analysis formally managing risk
Experience applying Earned Value Management principles and methodology
Demonstrated success at working with all levels of staff and management
Knowledge of the Sandia and product realization process
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to make decisions
Ability to work in a results-oriented and high-performance teaming environment
The Pulsed Power Sciences Center (1600) at Sandia National Laboratories is accountable for advancing the understanding, development, and application of pulsed power for the missions of the nuclear weapons program. The Center also utilizes its major experimental, theoretical, and computational capabilities to meet the national security and fundamental science needs of numerous Sandia and external customers. Center 1600 is Sandia's homebase organization for research in High Energy Density Physics (HEDP), Inertial Confinement Fusion (ICF), Advanced Radiography, Pulsed Power Science and Technology, and Fusion Technologies.
The Pulsed Power Engineering Department (1693) supports the engineering needs for the Pulsed Power Sciences Center by providing advanced engineering, design, and documentation services supporting the Z Machine, Sandia's Pulsed Power Sciences Center's flag ship program, and all other fusion and pulsed power hardware and technology development and maintenance needs. Additionally, the department supports other Sandia groups with engineering services by performing analysis and design. We maintain the required technical expertise needed to design, deliver, and support robust and cost effective pulsed power systems.
