Senior Estimator - Electrical (Kansas City)','225227','Estimating','!*!The Senior Electrical Estimator will be responsible for leading electrical estimating and preconstruction for design-build, CMAR and EPC estimates and proposals for water and wastewater infrastructure projects for municipal and industrial clients.  This position will assist the preconstruction and design teams by developing conceptual scopes and cost estimates, initiating constructability ideas to optimize and increase bring added value to the project, and producing accurate estimates in a credible and professional manner while minimizing risk to the company.


Lead electrical estimating strategy and implementation efforts.
Review and approve project summary schedules for validity.
Manage workload scheduling to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
Participate in risk review process.
Responsible for compliance with estimating methodology ensuring quality estimates are produced.
Coordinate with the electrical design team for estimating quantities and scope of project.
Develop and maintain list of regional and national contacts for electrical subcontractors, material suppliers and equipment vendors.
Involve small and disadvantaged businesses in solicitations and project pursuits .
Lead electrical subcontractor solicitation and pre-qualification reviews.
Responsible for reviewing and approving specialty and standard equipment pricing.
Review and verify electrical and instrumentation and controls subcontractor bid packages before being transmitted for quotes.
Present the estimate to internal and external clients.
Participate in the review of final estimate before management review and proposal presentation. 
Responsible for cost history, data base management and estimating process.
Provide man hour quotes for required estimating effort.
Develop strategy on contract partnering agreements for electrical and/or instrumentation and controls subcontractors.
Prepare and present estimating data for risk review process. 
Verify and approve estimates for joint venture reviews.
Review commercial terms and conditions and address risk issues.
Review and validate value engineering items, alternates and options. 
Responsible for the accuracy and validity of estimate clarifications and assumptions. 
 Review documents for gaps and overlaps in scope of work.
Train and mentor staff.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field.  Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement. A minimum of 8 years of direct preconstruction and estimating experience
Ability to work independently or in groups, think creatively and analytically, and make quick and sound decisions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Expert with Microsoft Office, ConEst or other similar electrical estimating software.
OSHA 10 hour safety certification required.
