Overview / Responsibilities
Wood is currently recruiting for an experienced Estimator, preferably with oil and gas experience to join the team.

Ensure alignment with Wood estimating guidelines
Understand the contract specific estimating procedures and carry out all work accordingly
Understand all relevant project documents pertaining to the preparation and evaluation of estimates
Maintain a good working knowledge of and utilize corporate estimating software
Ensure consistency across estimates and discipline CTRs in accordance with the project Scope of Work
Ensure all deliverables detailed on estimates have corresponding man-hours and are built up using agreed contract norms
Ensure the corporate & contract risk process is applied to estimates as required
Ensure estimates and discipline CTRs have suitable assumptions and exclusions and those narratives are of an acceptable standard to facilitate future change order justification
Coordinate the preparation and ensure the timely issue of estimates to clients
Liaise with cost discipline to ensure all cost elements used in the compilation of estimates are accurate and aligned to current client contract terms & conditions (T&Cs)
Liaise with planning department and project engineer to verify project start date and duration
Liaise with procurement and engineering departments on 3rd party cost estimation
Coordinate with relevant project and discipline personnel in the review and evaluation of estimates
Liaise with project controls and engineering disciplines to proactively identify projects which may require Change Request prepared in advance of work taking place
Participate in historical analysis of the accuracy of past estimates while identifying trends and potential accuracy improvement opportunities
Support the Portfolio Management, Project Management and Project Controls Team as required
Help maintain updated estimating norms or metrics
Assist with the development and revision of estimating procedures as required
Perform other job-related functions as required

Skills / Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

Five (5) years exceptional, relevant work experience
Five (5) years\u2019 experience in estimating role

Desired Qualifications:

Bachelor\u2019s degree
Five years\u2019 experience in project controls role with some estimating experience
Experience using P6
Experience in an EPC environment

Job-Specific Skills:

Excellent understanding of Project Estimating
Very good understanding of engineering and construction projects
Very good understanding of the basic principles of Project Management
Good general understanding of Cost Management, Planning and Change Control
Experience in the oil & gas industry
High degree of Computer Literacy, particularly in Primavera (P6) and MS Office applications
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to take direction and be supervised by others
Ability to perform work unsupervised
Strong technical and commercial focus
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to work to tight deadlines
Ability to work well with external and internal customers
